Although, Business Law degree would definitely be an add-on to your MBA - HR degree but, frankly speaking if you are planning to switch over from Architectural field to Human Resource which is completely a different field it would have been better had you opted for a full time MBA from a decent Institute like MDI, IMT, FMS etc. as switch over is not an easy task and chances are you may face difficulties while getting a job with a correspondence degree.
As far as the functional role is concerned you may have to start your HR career with one step lower than your current role or may have to compromise on salary. However, as ever

If you want to further your studies after MA then depending on the field you want to get in you can choose the courses, like if you want to go in teaching then you can either opt for PhD or can appear for NET, or else you can go for courses like Actuarial, Banking & Finance, Civil Services etc.
On the other hand if you straight away want to get into job you can look for jobs in fields like banking sector or as an Economist, Economic advisor or Econometrician, and Analyst etc.

There are two stages of Examination in civil services which you need to clear to get into civil services: Preliminary & Main.
Prelim: As the Prelim Exam pattern is changing now instead of subject Knowledge you have to focus more on areas like decision making skills, logical and analytical abilities and the knowledge in the services in which you want to pursue your career. I would request you to be specific about your query whether you have to prepare for written test or PI (personal interview). What I could gauge from your query is that you have got a call from NMIMS for Personal Interview. If this is the case for the preparation of Personal Interview, there is no need to read lengthy books. Few of the things which you should remember is that, first you need to be very confident about yourself and the information you want to give to the interviewer, be a good listener, only give positive information, do not open yourself to the areas of questioning that can pose difficulties, all these backed

The most important thing which you should keep in mind while getting into any programme is your own interests and career aspirations, so if you want to get further into research & lectureship then I would suggest you to go for PhD, however, if you are looking to plunge into private sector depending on the area you want to get into you can choose your course. MBA could be a good option if you want to get into management stream, with your background Hospital/Health Care Management could be a good option.
