Yes, you can take admission in Maharashtra for B.Tech by Lateral Entry. For that, you must have completed a Diploma in the respective branch to be eligible for the lateral entry programme. After completing your Diploma, you write a special examination for enrollment in the institute. You will get direct admission in the second year of engineering.

In India at least in present condition petroleum is better than aeronautical engineering. This is so since opportunities in aeronautical engineering fields are rather low.

48,611 is an average ranking. So u cannot get IITs and NITs. But u can try good deemed universities like MIT, SASTRA. Or government colleges. U can go for Shiksha predictor to predict your dream college.
