If you have done your Diploma then you can get admission in Lateral Entry Eligibility Criteria is
Pass with 60% aggregate marks in Diploma (engineering. ). (any stream) 3 years after 10th or 2 years. After 10+2 (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Non-Medical) or B.Sc. (Computer Science) or equivalent. ME B.Tech is perfectly fine here in the terms of academics and placements. For B.Tech in any field placements are really upto the mark. LPU is good for Mechatronics. Good placements in core company, internship assistance, other than participating different events like go kart, project expo, entertainment events like one india, one world etc. P

But if you ask me about which subject to choose, I would prefer sociology or public administration because these are easy subjects and easily understandable. Besides, anthropology is also a good and competition is also less for it.
But again, your choice must completely depend on your interest.
