It will give you a vocational qualification which would be an asset for You. You can enter the industry after Diploma and can enter good salary after years of experience. I have seen many project managers who are simply Diploma holders but with experience they reach to higher designations and attain good salaries. Though, On the other hand, some of the Gulf employers and other UAE companies specifically demand for Degree holders in their job advertisements. So, certainly, you will like to think about aspect of increasing your qualification later on in your life. But that would be your decision (based on your own circumstances later on in your life). Another lucrative thing is about government job opportunities. As a Diploma holder, you can sit in government competitive exams for Junior Engineers in almost every state of India and at national level. The courses in nutrition and dietetics are offered at diploma, undergraduate and post-graduate level. There are institutes and universities in India offering courses viz. PG Diploma in nutrition and dietetics, B.Sc (food science and nutrition) and M.Sc (nutrition), etc. Admission to these courses is made on the basis of merit. But a few institutes/ universities also conduct entrance examinations for admission.
To do the M.Sc course in nutrition, one needs to have a basic graduate degree preferably in science. Preferable fields of graduation are: Microbiology, Chemistry, Home science, Medicine, Hotel management or catering technology. One may also pursue a year-long PG Diploma in nutrition and dietetics. Fresh graduates are trained by the F&B departments of hospitals. The PG Diploma course requires a minimum degree in science.
