Before you appear for CAT, you need to decide on your interest areas and career aspirations, as CAT is an entrance exam for seeking admission into MBA. In case you intend to pursue a career in Technical / Research /Academics area then a Masters course in your Graduation level course will be a better option. However if you want to move into general management the MBA is suitable. As a pre-qualifying standard you need to ensure that you score more than 50% marks at graduation level for admission into MBA. The open test of CAT happens in November / December and most students appear for it during their final gear of graduation course.

The duration of studying the BTech Marine Engineering course in India is 4 years. Almost all of the BTech courses in India span 4 years where the students are given both theoretical and practical training to make them job-ready. The BTech Marine Engineering course can be the best choice for people who loves solving complex problems, enjoy playing with mechanical systems and engines, and is fascinated by oceans and sea, of course.

It is possible to pursue it after B.Tech, but I don't think it would be reasonable. Unless you are developing AI or something, otherwise it won't help very much. For IIT, you will have to pass JAM.

Hello,
You have secured good academic marks in past, but colleges give weightage equally to every sections like marks scored in entrance examination, what/GD PI and marks scored graduation (weightage varies from college to college). To be in safe zone try to score anywhere in between 90-95. All the best.

You can't calculate that on your own. It is based on how many people scored more than you, lesser than you and the total applicants.
