-If you are not interested in pursuing medical further, you may go for engineering courses, such as civil, mechanical, electronics, but for that you should have combination of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
-If you wish to take up medicine, dentistry, agricultural science, dairy science or biological sciences (biochemistry, biotechnology), the combination should be Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
-Apart form doing the degree level courses in science with the conventional combinations you can also choose degree courses in several emerging professional areas, such as, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, computer, business administration, hotel management, tourism management.
-You can also opt for courses outside the university stream, such as hotel management, fashion technology, aircraft maintenance engineering, government accredited computer courses and a host of post plus two level vocational courses.

-As for your question yes, you can pursue IPS,if you meet the eligibility criteria of IPS exam.Generally, the candidate should hold a degree with any stream from a recognized university .In other word they must have graduation degree.Final year students are also eligible to apply.
-The candidate should have attained the age of atleast 21 years as on 1st August of the year of exam.Maximum permissible age for general category students is 30 years.There has been an relaxation of 3 years for OBC category and 5 years for SC/ST candidate.
-The candidate must also fulfill certain physical criteria such as height and running speed.
