Hi Manish,
Regarding the preparation of CAT test I would suggest you to first start with self-preparation and stick to it for few weeks and revise your class 10 and 12th maths (CBSE/ICSE if possible) to strengthen your basics.
After self preparation for few weeks you may then consider joining some good coaching institute in your city which offers quality coaching for CAT and various other management entrance test.
Even after joining a coaching institute you have to do self study to strengthen your preparation.
The number of hours that you are required to put in depends on your individual aptitude, however it would be recommended for self s
