Dear Meghana Devi,
Yes, it is possible to get admission in government medical college under 15% quota, because most students are not interested in studying in other states (like north-south or south-north). Let's hope for the best.

Since, your 10th and 12th scores are lower than 60%, so it may be hard for you to sit for the placements. Though there are many companies which don't consider your 12th, 10th scores.

IIT is not the only way forward. You can always succeed from nowhere. But IIT helps you grow as an individual. If that is what you really want, drop a year. I personally feel, it is difficult to concentrate and getting through JEE after joining an engineering programme but there are people who have done it earlier. My personal advice would be to drop in case you are that desperate. You need to look at the cost of wasting a year in case you get complacent again. Looking at the other side of it if you get into CU you will mostly get complacent and continue with what you got than going after the bigger dream.
All the best.

The 26 that are selected are from various states, say every year only 2 students or a max of 3 can be selected from one particular state(this is not stated in the rules and regulations but this is a fact that you will come to know once you go through all
