A Diploma in Culinary Arts is more comprehensive, usually lasting 1–2 years, and covers a wide range of topics such as cooking techniques, bakery, and kitchen management. It prepares students for full-time roles in the hospitality industry.

Certificate courses are shorter, often lasting a few months, and focus on specific skills like bakery, pastry, or regional cuisines. While certificates are good for hobbyists or skill enhancement, diplomas are better for careers.

No you don’t need Math for Culinary Arts course. Most college take student from any stream without asking for special subject.

But little math is still helpful like for recipe measure, stock check and even money control.

You don’t need to be very good but knowing simple ratio and calculation make kitchen work and food business easier.
