Hi Kishore, I would say that the purpose of the M.Tech course is to give a specialized training in the field of engineering. Quite a few institutes intake candidates on the basis of the various entrance exams. M.Tech aspirants can apply for GATE exam as it is an all India test. The test is administered by top technology institutes. Most of them also conduct a personal interview round.
To be eligible, no restrictions in terms of age have been specified by institute. Graduates are allowed to apply for this course. They should have completed B.Tech, MCA or MSc in the any of the areas of engineering with at least 60% marks in the qualifying exam to accept the application.

The journey of this Institute began in 1975, just after nationalization of banks, as Personnel Selection Services (PSS), a unit of National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM). The objective was to develop an unbiased and efficient system for recruitment, promotion and placement services. This prototype initiative was extended to provide these services with all the academic and operational inputs to the banking industry initially which now has been extended to non-banking sectors as well. In 1984 this unit became an independent entity – Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) at the behest of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Public Sector Banks. The first Chairman of its Governing Board was Dr Manmohan Singh, the then Governor of RBI. IBPS is envisioned as self governed academic and research oriented institute, with a mission of enhancing human resource development through personnel assessment. IBPS has aligned with the Indian Banks' Association to conduct Common Examination for selection of personnel in clerical, entry level and officers' cadre. This decision came as a relief to aspiring candidates who wish to pursue their career in nationalized banks. Graduation is the minimum eligibility for this exam.

The admission of the candidates belonging to the different Regions and categories will be made on the basis of AIEEE-conducted by CBSE : -
NOTE : The candidates who have passed the qualifying Examination from recognized School/ College/Institutes located within the National Capital Territory of Delhi are eligible for admission against 85% seats reserved for Delhi Region Candidate on the basis of AIEEE.
The candidates who have passed the qualifying Examination from recognized school /College / Institutelocated outside the National Capital Territory of Delhi are eligible for admission against 15% seats reserved for Outside Delhi Region candidates on the basis of All India Overall Rank of AIEEE.
They are required to submit a separate application on a prescribed form to be procured from Delhi Technological University after the announcement of AIEEE Result. The Application Form for admission to B.Tech. courses can be downloaded from the website. Students should indicate their rank in their respective category at the AIEEE
In case two candidates have the same marks at the AIEEE, marks obtained in Qualifying Examination in subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together with equal weightage will be the basis of merit.
