Academic Eligibility Criteria for BCA Course is:
Candidate must have completed Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent
The minimum marks secured in 12th standard should be at least 50%
The candidate should have pursued the science subjects. The science subjects should include Physics and Chemistry
Most institutes insist candidates should have pursued Mathematics during 12th standard
New eligibility criteria's are decided by the universities so as to improve the quality of the students inducted. As part of it many of the institutes are insisting that the candidates should posses a Certificate in Computing. It is also known as CIC.

As a friend I would suggest you to first complete your BCA as you have already dedicated your 1 valuable year to it. Also, there are very few good institutes offering a Journalism course at Bachelor level.
Keeping in mind your keen interest towards Journalism, I would suggest you to pursue a part time certificate course in Journalism and after completing your BCA, you can opt for a full time PG in Journalism or Mass Comm. Till that time to enhance Journalistic skills you can try Citizens Journalism.
Journalism as a career is very challenging and requires a lot of hard work and patience. To become a good journalist you need to have a good command over English, Hindi and your regional language.
