From the previous year data, you can get the branches of B.Tech such as Biotechnology, Production, Chemical or Chemical (Plastic & Polymer) in the counseling rounds. You can take admission in the best branch possible for you now and then hope for an upgradation in the special round, but that is also not for sure, it totally depends on the seats available and your rank.

For job opportunities (to get preference for interview and placement), no, but the learning from IGNOU is really good, you may apply those principles learned in the day to day business scenario and the same will improve your skills.
