There are various courses available at the Graduate, Post-Graduate and Diploma and Ph.D level for forestry / wildlife.
But, as you have not mentioned the level you wish to pursue, so on general terms :
*** Graduate Level (Eligibility) :
-You need to have Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the intermediate level to go for B.Sc Forestry course.
*** Master's Level (Eligibility) :
-You need to pass B.Sc Forestry, B.Sc Agricultural, B.Sc Horticulture, B.Tech Horticulture, B.Tech Agriculture Biotechnology.

Yes, it is possible to pursue M.Tech without GATE. But, as a friend I would suggest you to opt for M.Tech after clearing GATE exam as it opens more doors of esteemed universities like IITs, NITs, IIITs, etc.
