To prepare for GATE, first check the syllabus of GATE and then prepare accordingly. Just check all the concepts of second year and third year. After that try to solve and practice as much numerical as you can from different books. Take one topic at a time and solve different questions. First choose a subject and complete it topic wise and then move to other. Choose the subject in which you are strong so that you can complete it early. Accordingly, you can choose subjects as per your difficulty level.

B-Schools look for students with a bright academic record, very good GMAT scores and work experience.They won't admit you only on basis of TOEFL score alone.

Even top ranked universities like Harvard and Standard may accept without work experience if you are something extraordinary.A number of tier 2 colleges which are decent also accepts. But not without GMAT. Schools requiring no GMAT may not be accredited.Also work experience is important because most of your classmates will be senior level professionals and you will find it hard to compete with them. If you have decided to invest then do it properly from a good university, gain work experience and take GMAT.

The syllabus will be usually made available on the university's web portal as well as in their library.

Migration in 3rd year is not possible. If there is an genuine reason or unavoidable circumstance then only you can write to your University and UGC regarding migration of college and that too within the same university.

You have scored reasonably well in your engineering exam. But to go to Canada, you need better academics through out. I hope you have that. My advise would be to try and get admission in MS.

Hotel management is a very good course and is in great demand. Although, the career growth is very tough and needs lot of hard work but as per the salary package and other benefits, it is a good course.

Diploma and degree both have their pros and cons, it depends on you for which course you are asking. For general courses, I would say UG+PG will always be a better option.
