Statement of purpose will act like a summary about you to the Interviewer. At the time of personal interview the interviewer will ask more questions from SOP. It is essential while applying to an International Job or pursuing higher studies mainly from foreign Universities. Here I believe you want SOP tips for MBA. There are 3 main points that you should cover in your SOP:
1) Why do you want an MBA degree?
2) What are all the reasons that made you to choose MBA?
3) What will you do with your MBA degree?
If you want or if it is asked, then you can specify your skills, strengths and achievements that make you the best candidate to earn this degree. (Remember to be humble always. Never show over confidence).
The only good thing for SOP is saying everything truly. Whatever you are writing, it should contain the truth in it. Otherwise the Interview panel will find the deceptions easily.
The bad thing is, saying the truth in direct way. For example: Why MBA- because I need more salary or better job. It may be the truth but say it in the indirect way. Instead of saying like this, you can say MBA can add some more skills and knowledge to make me fit for new jobs or to improve my existing career.
