If you are looking for a career in business, your options are: Chartered Accountancy (CA), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Cost Accountancy (from ICWA), Company Secretary ship (CS), Stock Broking or MBA. CAs are Audit and Account experts. Besides maintaining accounts in a firm, their work includes Accountancy, Auditing, Cost accountancy, Taxation, Investigation and Consultancy. A CS is a professional whose responsibilities in a corporate are that of an advisor for legal matters. Handling legal aspects that need to be covered for incorporation, formation, promotion, reorganisation or winding up of a company, are the responsibilities of a Company Secretary. A CFA is trained in financial management, investment management and management accounting. Their financial expertise is vast and varied including all aspects of economics, quantitative techniques, economic legislation and security evaluation; as well as financial services, covering project planning, merchant banking services, portfolio management, venture capital, leasing, hire purchase, credit rating and other allied areas.

Applicants must qualify in the paper appropriate to the discipline of their qualifying degree if a GATE paper is available in such a discipline. Only for those disciplines where there is no relevant GATE paper, XE / XL paper of the GATE examination is applicable.
NET qualified applicants could be eligible for IIT Kharagpur admission to MCP.
Applicants qualifying in XE or XL paper in GATE and / or those with a professional qualification ( AMIE, etc.) recognized by the AICTE will have to undergo an interview and / or test at IIT Kharagpur on 16th May, 2012 ( for XE candidates ) and 17th May, 2012 ( for XL candidates ).
Before being considered for admission, the applicant has to qualify in the interview
But still you have the chance to apply as self sponsered candidate!!
Eligibility :
The applicant should have at least 60% marks ( or a CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale ) for General / OBC categories and 55% marks ( or a CGPA of 6.0 in 10 point scale ) for SC / ST categories and 55% marks ( or a CGPA of 6.0 in 10 point scale ) for Master's degree holders in Arts or Social Science subjects in the qualifying degree examination. For a sponsored applicant, GATE score / NET qualification is not mandatory.
