Admissions are open for BTech Marine Engineering course at HIMT and selection of candidates is conducted through Indian Maritime University. For admission through IMU the candidate has to appear for the entrance examination conducted by the IMU. On successful completion of the examination the candidate need to opt for HIMT in IMU Counselling for the desired course. For admission the candidate can take up the entrance exam by registering through online using our web portal www.himtcollege.com by making a payment of Rs.1000/-. Please note that the candidate has to undergo the medical examination and is to be certified FIT.

In order to pursue MBA from IIMs you must hold a bachelor's Degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA, plus you need to take CAT test.
Please note that each IIM shortlists candidates for second stage of selection which may be independent of each other.
The process may include:
1. Written Ability Test (WAT).
2. Group Discussions (GD)
3. Personal Interviews (PI).
Performance in CAT examination is an important component in the admission process.
IIMs may use previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience and other similar inputs in short listing and ranking of candidates at various stages of the admission process.
As far as your gap is concerned explain the same with a good reason.
The processes, academic cut-offs and the weights allocated to the evaluation parameters may vary across IIMs.

MBA is a holistic course which deals with management aspects, the major specialization in MBA are:
- Finance.
- Marketing.
- Human resources, etc.
I would suggest that before opting for any specialization you must first decide in which field you wish to build your career and accordingly you can select the best specialization as per your interest and liking.
If you are a fresher I would suggest you to work for 3-4 years.
The advantage of this step would be:
- You will gain relevant work experience.
- After working for few years you will know which specialization to opt in MBA that can further enhance your career prospects.
- Candidates with work experience will have competitive advantage over other candidates with no work experience during MBA admission.
- This work experience of yours will also be an added advantage for you during campus recruitment in MBA, as most companies would surely prefer an experience candidates over a fresher for a job.
- Finally if you work for some years then you may yourself manage the expenses for your further studies.

Hi, Both the courses are good, but i would suggest you to make this decision as you are the right judge for this depending upon your interest, I can only provide with the related information about the course.
For MBA i would say that MBA has a broader aspects because all the the aspects of business management.

Business Administration and ManagementBusiness Administration and Management.

E-Business.
Finance.
Whereas Production engineering deals with the study of production process, information and control systems.
Specialization in Production engineering:
Network Models.
Computer Science.
Value Engineering.
Operations Research.
Materials Management.
So if you have interest in marketing and have good communication skills opting for MBA is a good option but if you find your filed of interest in manufacturing of product or equipments Master of Engineering in Production Engineering will be a good option.
You can also work in some organization as it will help you in two ways:
It is advisable for you to work for 2-3 years as it would help you in finding your field of interest.
It will also help you in getting the relevant experience of the field.
