GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), is a test which need to be taken by students who wish to pursue MBA in universities abroad.
The test is intended to measure verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills that the student has developed over a long period of time in his or her education and work; students answer questions in each of these three areas.
GMAT test is our of 800 marks, and all the good universities across the globe requires a score of 600-700 plus.
The GMAT scores are valid for 5 years.
It is always advisable to take GMAT at least 5-6 months in advance of your planned admission intake, so that you have enough time for preparation.

Well you have not mentioned any exam in particular like IAS or IPS or SSC, yet the examination pattern is same for all as the conducting body is one. There would be two papers in prelims- Reasoning Aptitude and English Comprehension. Followed by the main exam that would entirely be subjective.
I would suggest you to spend quality time everyday by reading journals, magazines, newspapers, etc. For your knowledge I am sending you link of institutes that prepare student for Civil Exams. To prepare for the Civil Services, you can start with the NCERT books ranging from class 8- 12th and study each subject well and study all the concepts well, other than this based on the subjects you can look for various subject wise reference texts like :
