Being a mechanical engineer, you don't have to select specifically anything to pursue MBA-IB. You may work in any field like power sector, mining, automobile, forging, steel plant or CAD/CAM design. While working, involve yourself in business aspects like procurement, tendering, price negotiations, surveys, erections and commissioning. It will give you insight for better understanding of IB.
If you are satisfied, give thumbs up to the answer or revert back for clarification if any.

The M.Tech fees in most colleges is between Rs.70,000/- to 90,000/- PA so you should not worry. Chennai area has around 100 colleges and AP has 500 colleges so suggesting few is very difficult. However, what should you see is that target college is NBA accredited and has Ph.D. faculty in your department. Also see that placement cell works for M.Tech students.

Usually top scorers get admission in top colleges. If you feel that your score is among toppers then you should get admission in your desired top colleges. Anyway I can suggest you that all colleges under any university teach same syllabus and have more or less similar facilities, infrastructure and professors. So keeping your financial feasibility in mind, decide a college which is near to your home place, so that you waste less time in travelling and get more time to study.
