CAT test is held every year between October to November, all the top B-schools in India including IIMs uses CAT scores for shortlisting students for admission in 2 year full time MBA and PGDM program.
GMAT is a test which need to be taken by students who wish to pursue MBA from universities abroad.Besides universities abroad many top B-schools in India too accepts GMAT scores for admission in 2 year full time MBA and PGDM program.
GMAT test is held all-round-the-year. Unlike other exams, you can choose your own date and time for taking the GMAT.
September to December is the high season for GMAT, so in case you intend to take the test during this period, you need to register very early, say 90 days in advance to get a date of your choice.
