Since you are a mother, I can you suggest you for teaching career as it would allow you to balance your profession with family. However if you are comfortable working in the corporate, you are most welcome to proceed further.
1. Teaching- Go for B.ED if want to teach in schools else sit for UGC-NET exam.
2. Corporate- Pick MBA or some additional courses that can enhance your career path.

Sikkim Manipal University is recognized by Ministry of Human Resource Development - Government of India and University Grants Commission under section 2(f) and the distance learning programmes are approved by DEC.

Though he can not complete the same Degree now, he can certainly take up some other in the Distance Mode from one of the several universities.He will not have any difficulty.I have had some students who have been past 60 and there is no feeling of discomfort.
