As far as possibility is concerned then yes, it is possible but then it will be too much of a burden and you might not be able to do justice to both of them. So I suggest take up one think at a time. But if you have the inherent capability of handling both simultaneously and give extended hours for studying then you may do it.

Both regular or distance degrees are acceptable however the former is preferable.
Secondly, MBA is valid and not PG Diploma. So you can plan accordingly.
Qualifying Examination:
The candidates those who have completed their post graduation in related subjects can appear for the exam. Those who have acquired post graduation from any recognized university are eligible for applying UGC-NET exam. The candidate must have a minimum of 55%.
Age Qualification:
The candidates appearing for JRF should not be above 28 years of age. The candidates appearing only for lectureship have no upper age limit. Age relaxation of 5 years will be given to SC/S

As the medium of education in US universities is english, so all the international students whose first or native language is not english have to take either TOEFL or IELTS test to prove their english language proficiency.
