Undergrad college matter for selection IIMs and FMS but not a single criteria. It more depend on 10th, 12th, graduation Mark's, achievements and test score, etc. It also depends a lot on GD /PI score. IIM, XLRI, FMS are not the end there are many good B-schools.

Placement is dependent on so many factors, it start from university and ends on student. University can provide you the infrastructure but efforts should be given by student. So, answering about stream is little difficult, because every stream have different curriculum, different no. Of student. But I can say, in LPU, maximum stream get more than 80% placements.
