Hi Samarjeet, after the successful completion of B.E./B.Tech generally students opt for M.Tech. You need to undergo an entrance test in order to pursue M.Tech., i.e., GATE exam.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and Seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Hi Vikas, career planning is one of the most crucial factors in your life which needs no emphasis.
If you wish to take up medicine, dentistry, agricultural science, dairy science or biological sciences (biochemistry, biotechnology), the combination should be biology, physics and chemistry (BiPC).
If you are not interested in pursuing medical further, you may go for engineering courses, such as civil, mechanical, electronics, metallurgy, computers, the option should be for a combination of mathematics, physics and chemistry (MPC).
It is true that the advantage of choosing science stream is that you can shift to the other two streams viz., humanities and commerce after 10 + 2.
Apart form doing the degree level courses in science with the conventional combinations you can also choose degree courses in several emerging professional areas, such as, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, computer, business administration, hotel management, tourism management.
You can also opt for courses outside the university stream, such as hotel management, fashion technology, industrial design, packaging, aircraft maintenance engineering, government accredited computer courses and a host of post 10 + 2 level vocational courses.
However, if you are very clear that science/medical is “ not your cup of tea” , there is no point in wasting precious years simply because it keeps many options open. It would rather be desirable to explore the opportunities the other fields offer.

After completing B.Sc Zoology, you can enroll yourself in many higher options. You can go for master's degree in Zoology. Other options like M.Sc Biochemistry, Biotechnology and Microbiology etc are also available. Research options are available in India and abroad. The remuneration is also high for those who are doing research in foreign countries. Master's degree in Genetics is also a good option. Master's degree in Dietetics is a good career offering course. Many hospitals are now offering jobs to the Dietitian. Many options are there for the candidates who do a Master's degree in Food and Nutrition. M.Sc in Nanotechnology is also a good course which is suitable for you.
