Candidates who have secured over 50% marks in graduation can apply for the post graduation course in journalism. Preference is given to those who have completed graduation in the journalism field. You need to score well in the entrance exams conducted by institutes like IIMC, Asian School of Journalism, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University, etc. Admission will be on the basis of the score in the entrance exam as well as graduation marks. You can choose from specialisation like media writing, public relations, human communication, communication research, etc.

~ Success Master: Journalism & Mass Communication Entrance Examinations 2016 - This books is useful for all basic knowledge of the media, media related aspects, and general knowledge.
~Manorama Yearbook 2016 - It is useful for current affairs and general knowledge.
~Also, follow the newspapers (particularly Times of India & The Hindu) to stay updated on the latest news and current affairs.
~Keep your knowledge of Hollywood and Bollywood up-to-date, refer to websites such as IMDB. Look at matters such as Oscars and Grammy Awards.
~Famous television channels (India & abroad), their celebrities, their tagline, and the issues they cover. Google is your best friend here but you may also refer to magazines.

You can go for a Bachelor of commerce B.Com For B.Com honours a lot of colleges need maths in 10+2. B.Com general you are eligible without maths, Bachelor in Economics B.A. If you don't have maths, B.Sc. If you have maths), Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Computer Application or you can do professional courses like Charted Accountancy CA Company Secretary CS Cost and Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Financial Planner CFP also you can opt for B.A. Or B.Com LL.B. As well. If you have interest in journalism, you are eligible for that too. The main point here is to chose a good university/College.
