Top engineering colleges do not give direct admission. You are advised to appear for Engineering Entrance Examinations to seek admission in top engineering college for B.Tech CS. You may try private universities such as Amity which provide direct admission to meritocratic students with exceptional marks in 10+2 board.

HEY!
First of all, it depends on what branch you want.I am assuming you are aspiring for top branches (Just because the cutoff are high) like CS,EC or IS. In that case , you need a really good rank ( approx below 700-800) to be safe. You can check comedk site for last year cutoff.
Translating the rank to marks can be difficult as it depends on the difficulty of paper set and the relative response of other candidates line you.For example, during my year , the paper was difficult and lengthy I scored 117 marks with a rank of 900. It varies and fluctuates a lot. Just prepare your best.

That's a good question because there almost 10-15 lakhs engineers who clear each year in India. Most of them are unemployed and do jobs which are unrelated to what they have studied. That's a really bad situation. So you must be highly aware of the future to survive in a good job.
The major impact is automation. Machines replace humans. So that we need to know robotics as well as the programming knowledge to develop these robots.
The best courses will be computer science engineering and mechatronics as they will play a major role in the future.
Also, note that mechatronics include electrical, mechanical, electronics and also a little o

The definition of better varies from person to person and is influenced by personal inclinations and ones strength for e.g. some people might to go with regular stream like CS, mechanical, Electronics and some might go with not so common branches like Robotics, petroleum, mining.
Opt for the engineering branch that you love the most and are most passionate about and analyze the future work conditions, scope and growth prospects before taking admission
You can also opt for psychometric test comprising of Aptitude, personality and career interest to clear confusion.

The best ones are obviously IITs. They offer the best placements and also higher salary packages too If you have not appeared for any JEE exams then the best among private universities is BITS, Pilani. It is better in terms of ranking and also placements
It is after IITs in ranking and it is a worldwide recognized institution.
The next among the private universities is VIT. It offers good placements and coaching. It is also recognized worldwide. You can refer to the rankings in 2017 for selecting the best institutions.
