Well both the careers are quite different from one another and very competitive ones offering great career options.
Company Secretary is a designation which holds multiple responsibilities ad acts as a mediator between the company and the board of directors, shareholders, government, regulatory authorities etc.
The CS is the advisory to the Directors/ Chairman and help them by advising to use their responsibilities in the most effective manner by adhering to the various Laws, but a CS does not practice Law.
A Law student is the person who is keen to practice Law as a career and also pay back something to the Society by the means of Justice. Law can be pursued in various streams like corporate law, civil law, criminal law etc. The syllabus and the objective of the courses differ and caters to different set of aspirants.
To pursue CS, one requires license from ICSI which is the regulatory body for Company secretaries in India and to practice Law, you require to be registered and licensed under the BCI i.e. Bar Council of India.

Although there are several short term and long term courses related to accounts but first you need to decide that what kind of a course you are looking for if you are looking for a long term or degree programs you can go for courses like MFA, M.Com, MBA etc. or certifications like CA, CWA, CFA, etc. or if you are looking for short duration courses you can look for diploma courses in law, auditing or taxation.
