Although there is an age limit maintained to get admission in either of the two courses but this would depend on the institutes as well. To pursue either of the two courses, the minimum eligibility required is a +2 with Science and maths as your subjects. To secure admission you need to qualify various entrances, and to know about these institutes you may refer to the following:

With a diploma in engineering you can apply to the institutes providing lateral entry to engineering and for this you will require to qualify the SLEEE organized under the state government authorities.

Either of the courses - MCA/ MBA are good and offer great career options, choosing among the two would entirely depend on your area of interest. MCA is an obvious option after BCA provided you are keen to pursue a career in technical field but if you plan to change your field and are inclined towards Management then MBA would be a good option and one can look for a particular specialization out many that are offered in MBA.

The deciding factor in getting the right kind of opportunities in your career is your overall personality, your caliber and your capacity to perform, yes; the other factors do hold importance like the standing of the University you are doing course from, your own educational background, whether the course is through correspondence or regular, etc. but to an extent. Like take for e.g. your educational degrees, they can help you in getting a good job opportunity but sustaining that opportunity and taking it to the next level would depend completely on you.
