So, there are n number of fashion institutes across India among all NIFTs is a well-known institute and also is an autonomous body. It has 16 branches all over India and most of them provide sufficient placements and there are eligibility criteria which you have to follow. Other than NIFT, there many other fashion institutes i.e Pearl Academy which is among top 5 institutes in India and contains 97% placement, here are also some requirements which you have to fulfil. SID ( Symbiosis Institute of Design), MIT-Pune and Ujjain. So, I suggest you first prepare for NIFT and once you get the experience, you are well prepared for other institute exams.

Popularly conceived as a glamorous field, the domain has cut-throat competition and vast challenges as well. However, there is wide scope of Fashion Design in India as well as abroad. Students have innumerable choices in front of them after completing their professional studies in Fashion Design. The fashion designers have varied options including designing, research, cloth production, textile designing, etc. They may join fashion houses/manufacturing/export units for a paid job or launch their own label in market. ESSENTIAL:
Standard XII (10+2) or equivalent examination passed from any recognised board or equivalent government approved Diploma (10+3) with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade (45% marks or equivalent grade for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes). DESIRABLE:
The candidate should possess Creative Aptitude & Skills necessary to pursue Design Education as well as adoptability to the situations, which the profession demands. Candidates with the relevant portfolio would be preferred.

For Outside Delhi Region Candidates (15% of seats):
Students must have passed any of the following examinations from a reputed School/College/Institute (located outside the National Capital Territory of Delhi). They shall secure a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Students must have passed English as a subject of study in the Senior School Certificate Examination Level (Core or Elective). Passing in each subject separately is necessary.
Bachelor of Science (General) or Bachelor of Science (Hons.) examination of a recognized university with combination of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with minimum aggregate of 60% marks
Indian School Certificate Examination (12-year Course) of the Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi
Any other examination recognized as equivalent to the Senior School Certificate Examination of the C.B.S.E.
Senior School Certificate Examination (12-Year Course) of the Central Board of Secondary Education (C.B.S.E.) New Delhi
Age Requirement-Applicants should be between the age of 17 and 25 years on or before the first October of the year in which they are seeking admission.
