You can definitely change the course provided a) there are vacant seats in CS b) is there any student who'd like to move frm Mech to CS. You have to talk to the college VP or the Admin officer , give a formal application mentioning your reasons for change. If there is a provision the college 'll definitely give you a chance. You can also meet the CS students and discuss with them and if there is a student who is ready to shift then you can put up the application together. You've to do this ASAP, for, the syllabus for the first year is same for all brances. Frm 2nd year the core curriculum comes into force.

Hi Anagha,
Well it depends on your interest and career focus. If you are keen to get in the field of IT and computers then definitely getting a more focused career course would be any day a better option i.e. going for a computer engineering would suit.
But if you are looking for an engineering field which parts its focus in different careers including Telecoms, Electronics, and IT then going for the EC specialization in Engineering would be a good options.
Neither of the two has any disadvantages, all of it depends on your area of interest and your career objectives.

Your salary doesn't depend only on your marks. It depends on you as a whole. An employer tries to understand you from different dimensions before fixing a pay scale. If you are opting for a job in BPO / KPO then your salary c'd be 15,000+. Otherwise a beginner in a pblc ltd company starts at a salary of 8-9k per month.

Dear Devendra,
You have an option. First you find a job in related sector and alongwith this you can do 2 years master of tourism studies from IGNOU in distance mode
Although the course in distance mode, IGNOU's programme delivery module contains face to face counselling, Audio Video conferencing, assignment and project. When you will do your assignment and project, this will give you much practical experience even more than a full time students in ordinary colleges
If you need any further assistance
