There are a lot of advantages when one joins by lateral entry.
The syllabus in the first year of B.tech is already covered in their diploma studies so they need not revise it. Thus they can save a year.
Apart from being able to enter into the second year directly, students will already have a good idea about the course they are going to study. Both the theoretical and practical classes will be easier for them and they will be able to catch on pretty quickly.The fundamentals of the related subjects will be covered in the diploma, so it will be easier for them to understand.
