Hi Twinkle,
As very rightly said by Gautam Joshi, there is a difference in being passionate and in knowing the skill well. In case you have strong hold on your writing skills and you are sure to make a successful career out of it then only you should take the risk to go against your parents' wishes and try to convince them about it but if you have even 1 % of doubt then suggestion would be that you should go with what your parents are advising you.
Hope this resolves your query. Feel free to put up more queries In case your query is resolved please close this question by choosing it as a “best answer” or pressing the “thumbs up”

It actually depends on the course you wish to take. Secondly, it also depends on the delivery. There could be colleges which are reputed for delivery. Industry knows those colleges, but there is never a definite singular preference list, as it may vary from company to company. So the trick is to gauge that. Wish you the best for your career. Remember, your Career is a resultant of your knowledge combined with your passion and expression ability. If you like this answer you may select it as best answer or press like.
