What is the difference between Apartment and hostel in LPU? Is Apartment better than hostel rooms in LPU?

Hello Abhay,
Apartments are more spacious as compared to hostel rooms and there is also a separate kitchen area as it is an apartment with some extra facilities. LPU's hostels are equipped with CCTV cameras and security personnel to ensure the safety and security of residents. The apartments boast a range of excellent facilities to ensure comfort and convenience. Each room is equipped with an air conditioner and an attached washroom fitted with a geyser, providing both cool and hot water as needed. For a restful sleep, every room includes a bed with a comfortable mattress. Additionally, students can benefit from a study table and chair

Hostel is better as you can make more friends and can take help in group projects and group studies. Hostel room is also cheaper as compare to the apartment ones. Basic facilities like mess, laundry etc., are available here whereas in apartment you will have to do all on your own. Apartments have more facilities than hostels and the fees for that is also more as compared to hostel.

Apartment is bigger, more spacious than hostel rooms. In apartment you will get more facilities than hostel. I will suggest you hostel as you can make more friends, take help in projects. You can also discuss important topics with them. Also hostel will be cheaper than apartment. You will get basic facilities in hostel and also food will be good. In Apartment you have to take care of food on your own. Both have their own benefits and disadvantages. There is no limit in apartment. You can do anything. So take decision wisely.

At Lovely Professional University (LPU), both hostels (often referred to as "hotels" by students) and apartments are available as residential options, each catering to different student needs and preferences. Here's a comparison to help understand the differences and whether apartments might be better than hostels:

Hostels: Hostels at LPU typically offer shared rooms with options for single, double, or triple occupancy. The rooms have basic furnishings, with shared common areas, and bathrooms may be shared depending on the hostel type.
Apartments: Apartments offer a more private and independent living experience. Stude

Hey, so from what I've checked on LPU's official site, the NEST counselling is mainly done online, which is super convenient for us students anywhere in India. You just log in after your results, pick your preferred courses and seats based on your rank, and lock it all in digitally—no need to travel right away.
It's got this smooth flow: download your scorecard, fill choices online, get seat allotment via merit, pay the initial fee (like INR20,000) through net banking or UPI, then submit docs later. LPU makes it flexible too, letting you pay offline at campus if you prefer, but the core process stays online for quick access.

Yeah, LPU totally releases the LPU NEST counselling dates on their official site—it's super organized and student-friendly. For 2026, they've got it starting February 8th onwards for B.Tech, with online seat preferences from Feb 8-10, results on 12th, and admissions up to late Feb. Results drop quick, like within 24-48 hours post-exam, so you can jump right into counselling without waiting forever.
It's all online mostly, through nest.lpu.in, where you update choices and get allotments based on your score—makes it easy from anywhere. No offline hassle unless you want campus visits for fees. LPU keeps everything updated live, way
Yes, it is actually very much required to bring along Class 10 and 12 certificates or at least mark sheets during the LPU NEST counseling, primarily because the university explicitly would wish to establish the age of applicants from the Class 10 marksheet and verify eligibility with the Class 12 certificate/marksheet before confirming admission and awarding a scholarship.
at LPU NEST counselling, you would have to check the result & rank, fill and lock online course/seat preferences, get the allotment of the seat based on the rank and choices, pay to secure the seat by paying the initial fee, and go on to upload/verify documents and pay the remaining fee within the stipulated time for final admission.
