B.Tech is a prestigious degree and requires a good college for a successful career. I would suggest for UEM Kolkata for its quality education, good placement records in top companies. For B.Tech admissions, you can consider the following colleges-
1. University of Technology and Management (UTM)
2. UPES
3. Thapar Univesity
4. SRM
5. BIMTECH
6. IIT/NIT (based on JEE)

IITs and NITs are mostly preferred by the students and they both are one of the prestigious institutions in India but they require good marks in JEE Advanced. If you are not eligible for these two institutes, then you can go for private colleges or can give entrance for BITS Pilani, etc.

Established in the year 1956, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is quite famous in the Patiala region. Its NIRF ranking in is in top 20 and more than 900 offers are made to its students from several recruiters. The Computer Science department at this varasity is a bit younger than the rest and yet garners a lot of attention. The average package offered is around 10 - 12 Lacs which is quite decent for a fresher.
