I am not sure about the colleges of any particular area but all the IITs and NITs are the best ones and some government and private owned engineering colleges also offer good education.

In India, for the preferred order, don't go by NIRF ranking as there are no of clauses and one can only understand it after great analysis. -IIT Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras -IIT Roorkee, BHU, Guwahati, Hyderabad, NIT Trichy, BITS Pilani, IIIT-H. -IIT Indore, IIT Gandhinagar, NIT- Surathkal, MNIT, VNIT, Anna University, DTU, NSIT, IIIT-Allahabad, IIIT-Delhi -Other NITs, IIITs preferred according to their course of study and their rankings, BITS-Hyderabad, BITS-Goa, Jadavpur University, DAICT, PEC-Chandigarh. -BIT-Mesra, VJTI-Mumbai, VIT, LNMIT, Nirma, HBTI, Thapar, RV College. -MIT-Pune, COEP, Manipal.
