Which college is better for B.Tech CSE in terms of academics and placement: LPU or SRM, Chennai?

Both SRM & LPU are good colleges to pursue B.Tech CSE. In the northern region, LPU is the best private university with good placements, When it comes to good placement colleges, LPU holds a position amongst the top colleges. The university provides 100% to all the enrolled students. CSE specifically has tremendous placements on and off campus. Brands like Microsoft, cognizant, Capgemini, Google, Cipla, Syska, Samsung etc. Are a part of the recruitment process. The university makes sure each student gets the job that they wish to have. The highest package offered in 2019-2020 placement was to Tanya Arora from CSE. The package was for 42 Lacs pa offered by Microsoft. LPU makes sure students give their 100% in the recruitment process. Hence, the students are prepared prior the process by giving placement or PEP classes. Wherein all the interview related activities are performed.

LPU is one of the best universities among all the B schools as well as other ranked universities. I will share certain facts which would justify the same. 1. Accreditation: As LPU got accreditation from the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs, USA (ACBSP). Not only LPU is highly accredited but also it is having numerous international tie-ups for instance university of North Alabama, Livingstone College etc. 2. Size: LPU is spread over 600 acres campus consisting of 3000+students and 3500+ faculty members and staff. Students are taking the admissions not from all over India but across the borders, which makes me feel that I am in a foreign land. 3. Ranking: LPU has following ranking: 1. Impact rankings 2021 2. National Employability Award 2020 by Aspiring Minds 3. Outlook has ranked LPU as 5th among top 50 universities 4. Knowledge Review rated LPU as 10 th among Best training and Placement Institute 4. Infrastructure: LPU in itself a town as all the amenities a student could found at one place there is no need to move out of the campus. From Central Library to Hospital, Bank, ATMs, JIM facility, swimming pool. A student could enjoy his or her life in the best way. 5. Placements: LPU is having outstanding Placements record for the students. As every year not only national companies but also international ones are also hiring the LPU students for instance Amazon offers 30 Lacs package per annum. The Corporates which have visited the campus are Microsoft, Amazon, DBS Bank etc. 6. Faculty: LPU composed of the best faculty members from IIM, IITs and the other best B schools. 7. Upgraded Approach: LPU is highly upgraded in its parameters, including paperless attendance, online assignments, submission, etc. We can also raise our grievances online itself.

Most of the Engineering Colleges in India don't focus much on developing the overall personality of the student. Anyways Your decision making should not be on the basis of placements, packages but on quality of students ( your peer group), faculty, infrastructure, curriculum, and the alumni network. My brother has completed B.Tech CSE from Lovely Professional University and currently he is working in Amazon with the highest package. So through him I come to know about University and few other things which I would like to discuss:- LPU is the best engineering college in Punjab for CSE. Lately, number of admissions in CSE department have been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. It focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. Professors are easily approachable in the college and are well experienced. They are very supportive of all technicalities. Students can contact them anytime for their study purpose. The latest teaching methods are used in the classroom. The placements on the campus is good enough. It is the best university in the North of India to give the best packages in B.Tech (CSE). During the time of my brother induction, I have seen a few students who got placed in the companies with a package of 42 LPA. The university placement drive undoubtedly works hard for the students to get placed. Just before Final Year of your course, a special team called School of Professional Enhancement will prepare students for upcoming placements and you won't get a day off from placements, every day a company comes to campus. Its just up to you how well you can do and never lose Patience you will get placed, you just have to prepare well for that. The university has tie-ups Oracle to train us better and with huge companies for placements like Google, Microsoft, Capgemini, Amazon, JOSH technology group, Tech Mahindra, TCS and others who visit every year offering attractive packages to students. The average package is around 3.5lakhs - 4.5lakhs p. a. The deserving ones are also seen ceasing the opportunity by getting placed with a whopping package of 20-25 LPA. LPU B.Tech. In Civil Engineering course is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 102 genuine verified students while SRM University same course is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 56 students at Shiksha.

Being an alumnus of LPU I feel I can answer this question. When I was looking for colleges to join I was also confused between LPU and SRM. However, after considering a number of factors I decided to join LPU and I feel it was absolutely the right decision. There are many factors that make it worthy to join. Some of them are- Campus - Without a doubt, it's a beautiful place for education with a serene environment. The university campus spreads over 600 acres in boundary on the outskirts of Jalandhar and houses over 30,000 students. The campus has all the facilities a student can ask for be it Food Canteens, Gym and Parks. Courses -LPU offers a lot of courses B.Tech, MBA, Hotel Management and LL.B. Are some of the popular courses. When students of so many streams interact with each other it helps in expanding the mind not only in the course the student is currently pursuing but also in other courses. Faculty - Most of the faculty members are from IIT, IIIT, NIT, IIM or from elite Schools (India/Abroad. They have a decade of experience. The faculty is really helpful. Even they help students after regular university hours In every section they have 4060 Students which helps teachers to focus on focus on each student. Placements - On average, more than 600 companies visit every year for various industry-academia activities and campus recruitment of students from LPU. LPU provides placements to the maximum it has record-breaking placements in MBA approximately 98% of students got placed in top companies in the year 2020. Moreover, CSE students were placed in top companies, with a package of 42 Lacs per annum in Microsoft was a highlight in the newspaper and in news.
