Both are two different branches with different job opportunities. I would rather suggest you to choose your interest. Because in future you should be satisfied with your job. Not the people who are answering your questions. So choose your stream wisely.

Chances for job in both field are high. In computer science there is high competition as well as heavy workload. In petroleum there is not much competition and there are lot of opportunities available abroad and it will pays you a lot. But the source for studying petroleum engineering is very less compared to other fields and cost of study is also high.
