Which of these is better: B.Tech in Computer engineering from DTU or BE (Hons.) Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS-Pilani?

B.Tech in BITS Pilani is far better than B.Tech honors in DTU. There is no comparison between the two institutes, as one is working extraordinarily while other is struggling to prove its identity and become student’s first choice. Now coming to the placements statistics, the highest placement ever from Google is 1.42 crores from google whereas 27 LPA from DTU, so thus making oneself clear about the study pattern and industry recognition. Also, last year, students of BITS Pilani won a million dollars from Microsoft, by participating in a coding competition held in USA organized by Microsoft. Although, the fee is very high in BITS Pilani, though it is worth spending the huge amount for CSE. Now, coming to the entrance, it is as difficult as getting rank under top 200 all India and thus is out of reach of many students, whereas one may find easy admission in DTU. Summarizing the discussion, one should definitely go for BITS Pilani but if unable, then DTU is a better second option.

First of all it depends upon your interest whether it is CSE or Electronics. Because if that is clear that you can choose any college from the two colleges you have mentioned above because both colleges are really good whether it is talk in terms of education facility, infrastructure and Placement cell is concerned.

BITS PILANI is best for EEE due to following reviews Placements : As the placements for this semester are not done yet, I'm stating previous year placements stats. Last year, more than 90% of EEE branch got placed on campus. Most of them were placed in IT companies or finance or consultancy. Out of around 90 students of EEE, around 10-12 people got placements in core companies like Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Cyprus semiconductors, general electrics, Infosys, etc. These is a similar branch called ENI (Electronics and Instrumentation), which has almost same placement stats as EEE. BITS Pilani has an internship program of 5 months as a whole semester called PS2, which helps students to get placed before sitting for the campus placements. Out of 90, about 20-30 students get placed through this program only. So for EEE branch in BITS, placement is even better than most of the IITs, and similarly for computer science. Infrastructure : BITS Pilani is currently renovating the whole campus. Just two three years before they have open a new academic block with high tech classrooms, an auditorium, and IPC (Information processing center) labs where around more than 250 desktops are available to use for students any time from morning 9 am to 11 pm. In first year, most of the student gets a double room, and some students get a single room. From 2nd year onwards, every student get their own separate room. Every room has LAN connection for internet which has a decent speed. There is a software for local database called DC+ which can be used to download movies, software and lots of study material for each course. Wi-Fi is provided in renovated hostels. Library is famous for its huge collection of books and most of the time you will get any required book unless some already has issued it. EEE labs are decent but not much impressive. Sports facilities are good for indoor games but not that good for outdoor games as there are two newly constructed synthetic courts for basketball. Fields for other sports are under construction and maybe completed by the end of this educational year. Basic medical facilities are available in the campus but there is a hospital nearby which is free for BITS students. Faculty : We have a lecture theater of capacity more than 200 students. One professor gives lectures to all the students entitled to a particular course and then, there are different tutorial sections of 40 students each for doubt solving and practice.

BITS Pilani's electrical and electronics is better placed as compared to DTU. At BITS Pilani, along with the course curriculum, there are lot of opportunities with IEEE for electrical engineering. There are modern state of art infrastructure in terms of labs. There are lot of student teams in various competitions throughout the world where students from electrical background the parts. The campus is full of greenery and spread across vast area Electrical engineering has numerous opportunities in terms of placements along with practice schools in terms of industrial exposure.
