Which college is better for B.Tech in CSE: Lovely Professional University or SRM University, Chennai?

Hello, I have done my Engineering from Lovely Professional University and I am a proud alumnus of LPU. I can share details about LPU but I cannot comment anything about others. Starting with my experience from the first year onwards, where we asked to join some Placement. Enhancement Classes, that day I wondering why there is a need of same at this early stage and then the day I was sitting in my placement drive, I recall all those essential points which were taught to me that day and those eventually helped me in securing my seat in an interview. One more point I would like to share that it is not just calling the company to the campus, but preparing the students up to such level that they can crack any interview is equally important. So, I have observed, LPU faculty members, put in a lot of efforts to get the students placed. So, preparing the students to such level is more important and putting up efforts for that is more important and that what LPU always takes care of. University has separate placement enhancement department, which focuses on overall development of students. University keeps on conducting, guest lectures, seminars, live projects, hands on training, sharing views and experiences by the experts and many more events which helps the students to broaden their thoughts and cope with the corporate world. In my batch I remember, almost 95% students were placed and there were many who got the multiple packages as well. I was one of them, I remember my day I am hopping around the campus and was looking around which option to choose, Finally I landed up choosing HCL, with which I am currently working as well since last 4 years and have received many promotions and hikes. All I dedicate that to my faculty members and mentors at LPU. They helped me in choosing the right decision at that time as well. Students are trained professionally from their first year onwards. The University provides maximum opportunities to students. It depends upon the students whether they want to grab the opportunity or not. Talking about my another life experience where we were asked to be a part of some live project in my second year and I was wondering, whether I am capable enough to be a part of such grand project from an MNC, but when eventually I started working, I realized I can do that and I had that much knowledge to be cope up with such projects. Also, such projects boosted up my CV and helped me in my placements as well as in my professional career. Thanks!

If you are looking forward for pursue B.Tech CSE, I will suggest you to join Lovely Professional University. One of my known is in LPU in the same course. Reviews are pretty good. But you need to be wise. Take your decision by yourself. Few points shared by my cousin:- He told that With the advancement of course you will be learning numerous programming languages. In the third year SAP will be introduced in the curriculum. Limited number of Universities provide this course. Here in LPU, students will learn SAP for the entire third year providing them an edge. This university is well-equipped in various advanced technologies that are required for the most effective learning. To provide a perfect environment where students are enlightened, faculty members have adopted various advanced learning methodologies for efficiency too. At the end of second year students get an option to choose one of seven different minors to pursue (IOT, Big Data, Web Development, Machine Learning, Android App Development, Data Science, Cyber Security). A student can opt for any, according to field of interest. Students start getting internship and job offers from the 6th semester on wards. If you are eligible and possess all the requirements needed by the recruiter, then you may get placed in the 6th semester itself. The packages are quite decent too, for instance the first company that visited the campus in 2018 gave a package of 13 LPA. Apart from all the curriculum you'll come across, literally, 100s of technical and non-technical competitions being held. Participating in them will give you an extra exposure, an extra platform to share your knowledge and showcase your skills. Summarizing up, if you are really interested in pursuing Computer Science and Engineering then Lovely Professional University is one the best options available. Great professors, great environment, everything is just as good as it can be. The curriculum may feel heavy as compared to other courses, but in the end it will be worth it. While studying at Lovely Professional University, you will get option for Credit transfer programme, Semester exchange programme, International Exposure programme and Master-abroad programme. Choose wisely where you want to study as it will be a key factor in determining your future. It was my point of view, my experience that I shared. Although All the above-mentioned universities are equally good there are just nuances among all these Universities. Majorly the regions are different and all are putting great efforts in their academics and enhancing other salient features. Still There are certain parameters such as placements, infrastructure, faculty level, environment, growth etc. It a big question in the mind of a student as well as parents that what will be the offers and placement scenario of educational institute when the student will be about to complete the course. LPU is an international university with more than 700+ tie ups with industries and companies to support academic and placement of his students. My cousin sister done her B.Tech in CSE from here and she got placed in Cognizant with top package. Other friends of her also placed in other companies such as Capgemini, Tech. Mahindra, BOSCH, Amazon, SAP, Texas Instruments, Cadence, Sandisk, Moserbear. Their junior Tanya Arora who is recently in news, got placed in Microsoft with 42 LPA. So, we have no doubt that LPU is best and a bench marks for placement and internships of students not only in CSE but also in other courses. One more point I want to highlight here is that the scholarships offered by LPU helps a student without any monetary burden. Now, LPU has floated COVID-19 Front-line Scholarship for COVID survivors and their dependents as well which is the best possible effort it can provide to target every aspirant in this current scenario. While beginning with the discussion and making you get the right choice, always keep in mind that CSE is more about dedication, passion, and hard work towards our goal. SRM and LPU are one of the most prestigious institutions in the nation. Before selecting them, keep away the hangover of IITs and NITs. The institutions are very well but there are students who are students from private or other far of institutions are doing and achieving far better than them. Well, LPU is a renowned and famous option but a new university whereas SRM is an old and more established one than LPU which have its own pros and cons. Infrastructure: LPU has an unbeatable infrastructure as compared to SRM and other institutions of India. Though SRM spends a lot to maintain its towers the old construction might be seen in some far off SRM campuses. Also, LPU has the largest pool of talents and creative minds as it has the highest number of students and largest campus. So, a good learning of management can be attained from LPU staff. Management and Accommodation: Again LPU beats SRM as it is having a hi-tech IT build system throughout the campus whether it is the sensor-gates at the entrance or fully online system of marking assessments and co curricular. LPU has the highest number of full metal detecting turnstile gates as compared to any international airport or temple of India. Academics: One cannot ignore the fact that SRM has more qualified teachers and experienced lab coordinators which seem obvious when the establishment is too old but LPU is developing and is rated as the fastest upgrading institutions of India. Placements: Both LPU and SRM provide ample opportunities for placements in their recruitments drives and there is seen a frequent visit of core MNCs but SRM is academic and LPU is an industry oriented university. CSE has a large scope here such as in the web and android development, hacking and its security and so on practised on an only I-Mac labs in the country. Also, LPU charges a very nominal fee as compared to other govt. and private institutes. Hence these are the judgements. So make a wise decision. But according to me, LPU is the best option. Hello, Well, each of us has our own perspective of viewing or understanding things. My brother has done his B.Tech CSE from LPU and has received Campus Placement in Amazon. Sharing my knowledge from all these universities, I would recommend LPU, in terms of giving maximum no. Of opportunities to candidate. In LPU, there are many companies who visit for CSE. Huge no. Of tech festivals, seminars, workshops are held there. A very good environment is there as lot of culture diversity. Apart from study, students can learn many other things from diversity. Moreover, for getting place anyone need knowledge which is 80% in student's hand, only 20% help from other resources. Coding skill comes only by self-practice, even top college can't let you learn these skill. If you have these skills, no one can stop you get place, whether on campus or off campus placement: whether it is LPU or any university. Undoubtedly, LPU is one of the best colleges for engineering in India. The faculty, infrastructure, and facilities are excellent at LPU. Most of the faculty members are Ph. This and others are pursuing. The curriculum of the Courses is designed according to the industry demands and the suggestions of company officials are taken while designing the syllabus of the particular subject. LPU Students also design Solar-powered Driverless Bus to ferry PM Modi to Indian Science Congress 2019. Moreover, the preparation of placement is started in the first year and the placements are 100%. LPU has set the highest placement record in North India.

Transforming education, transforming India. Placements: Lovely Professional University is well known for its placements and has been ranked the highest in placements in North India. This year, the college is trying to have 100% placements. Our mass recruiters are Cognizant Solutions, Tech Mahindra, Amazon and many more. As I am from mechanical, core companies we have this year are Anglo Eastern Shipping Management, TATA Steel, Samundra, Asahi Glass Limited etc.

Certainly, LPU is the best engineering college in Punjab for CSE. Lately, number of admissions in CSE department have been increased rapidly and has become one of the popular courses among engineering aspirants. It focuses on the basic elements of computer programming and networking. Professors are easily approachable in the college and are well experienced. They are very supportive of all technicalities. We can contact them anytime for our study purpose. The latest teaching methods are used in the classroom. Curriculum in our branch is very well designed such that we can learn everything from basics to the in-depth knowledge of our field. The College takes us for the industrial visit for more growth and experience. It hands on experience by also working on live projects to develop a sense of problem-solving, and critical thinking in order to gain real-life understanding along with skill enhancement. In addition to core curriculum, the course offers subjects like communication and soft skills to enhance personality. The placements on the campus is good enough. It is the best university in the North of India to give the best packages in B.Tech (CSE). During the time of my induction, I have seen a few students who got placed in the companies with a package of 17 LPA. The university placement drive undoubtedly works hard for the students to get placed. Recently Tanya Arora got placed in Microsoft at the package of 42 Lacs at Microsoft from LPU.

Both are doing pretty well in this branch which is highly sought after and has maximum opportunities. But change is the only constant in computer engineering ! LPU has adjusted dynamically to the continuous updations and changes in the industry. As an Educator I would compare the universities on following: Curriculum : If at all the curriculum is continuously upgraded and developed with consultations and feedback of industry. Since it is a highly dynamic field, you cant afford a program which is stuck in obsolete technologies and syllabi. Pedagogy : The teaching pedagogy forma the backbone of how the program is delivered, more the practical, better it is. Maximum exposure to practicals and internships more chances of becoming a well rounded professional. Technology: The businesses and the business functions are now highly tech driven, the tech program must have the exposure and training of the same. The world leading technologies like SAP, GitHub, Advance excel etc are must for any professional to succeed in career. Industry interface: Ultimately its the industry which is going to immerse the students in the placements, the regular industrial talks, interactions, lectures, visits and internships are must have in any tech program. Professional etiquette: It is the most important part these days, the personality, ethics, virtuous, speech, body language, interpersonal skills etc are given high importance in the organisations. The program must include the training or modules on all these. Diversity: As he world shrinks into a aligned economy, the professionals will be required to work in cross cultural teams having entirely different work culture and ethos, the national and international diversity of students in a college is helpful in enabling the students develop right sensibilities for such work atmosphere. Entrepreneurship : Even though most of the students go for jobs, the exposure to entrepreneurship is required. This helps the professionals know how the other departments and the profit center heads work, what are the expectations etc. The college must have innovation labs, design thinking and business incubator. Placements : The program is only means to the end ! And desired end of such course is a placement. You must check if the college/university has sold track record of placements or not.
