Which course is good BCA or B.Tech? Which has more scope? What are the minimum marks required to get admission?

BCA is a three year programme aimed at imparting basics of Computer Applications and form a sound foundation for further studies with summer internship and final project in between. While B Tech CSE is a four year programme which is aimed at both forming a solid foundation and also imparting the knowledge in large number of highly advanced technologies, programming languages and professional credits. It is made tailor made professional course for employability in various fields. There are large number of differences between the syllabi of both in terms of number of credits as well as the advanced versions being taught in B TECH. So this choice must be taken on following parameters:
1. What kind of career you want? Highly specialised with immediate emplyability or solid foundation course? Which further opens doors for more studies and employment into trainings or teaching apart from industry.
2. How many years you want to study: B.Tech will be for 4 years and leads to immediate employability while BCA is three year course but requires MCA at the end of the day to make a real mark.
3. Eligibility: If you have more than 60% in 10+2 then you are eligible for B.Tech, while god forbid if you are not able to secure 60%, and get above 50%, then BCA will be right choice.
4. Finances; B.Tech is usually more expensive one, you need to check your budgets. Coming to choice of university, you must check the following before deciding on it:
Curriculum : It must be based on industry consultations. Technologies: Large number of technologies are a part of curricula like SAP, Advance Excel, GitHub, Machine learning and many more MOOCs which are all at no additional charges. Infrastructure: The campus must have all the latest equipment and tech to give practical exposure to students. Diversity: LPU attracts a diverse set of students and faculty from all across India as well as more than 70 countries. This gives a unique exposure to cross cultural ecosystem. Professional Enhancement: This aspect must be taken care of in the course duration
Placements: Since the ultimate goal is to have a good career, campus must attract companies to absorb all the talent. As per my experience in last 16 years, LPU ticks all the right boxes.

Its definitely B.Tech.Its curriculum is designed in such a manner to teach the theory and the practical application based knowledge to make student much skilled in his or her domain. Moreover, BCA does not have much scope and should only be opted while preparing for any civil service exam along with it.
For admissions in LPU , one need to have minimum 60% marks in class 12th and JEE Mains or LPU-NEST qualified.
Also, scholarships are provided for each semester fee on the basis of excellent marks in JEE Mains, LPUNEST and class 12th percentage .

B.Tech has a brighter scope. Firstly, try to score a minimum of 75% in PCM and simultaneously, prepare for JEE exam in order to get admission in good colleges.

If you are more interested in programming and coding and looking for a good career in Web development you can choose BCA to pursue ATIT is purely and intensively about computing, programming and coding. The eligibility criteria depends on the university may be ranging from somewhere 50% to 60% in the qualifying exam.

B.Tech is a better option as it is a professional degree/ course where as BCA is not professional but it is a simple degree. These days we have many good private universities like Lovely, Sharda, Chitkara etc. Offering B.Tech CSE, thus helping you fulfill your dream of becoming software engineer.
