I would suggest you to go for B.A. In Economics, this would be more suitable as history is the compulsory subject here and is a part of IAS exam paper as well, also, you will be in touch with the mathematics and Indian Economy as well, this way nearly half of the subjects would be covered in graduation itself. General knowledge and other common subjects need to be prepared separately.

As you are interested in appearing for IAS exam, seeing your interest, I want to suggest you that nothing is easy and nothing is difficult. That is you, how you handle it. If you opt for engineering, that means, you have to invest first four years in your course and later, you can start with UPSC which will take one year, and if you opt for normal graduation. Then, you will have time for preparing for UPSC. So, decide course effectively, future is yours. Aim big, do great for country.
All the best for your future.

For IAS, BA is very helpful, as you have done class 12th in Science, your fundamental is clear in Science, you can easily read Science subjects, but not arts subjects, so BA is better, it's not so tough too.
