The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a 3-hour standardized exam designed to predict how test takers will perform academically in MBA (Masters in Business Administration) programs. GMAT scores are used by graduate business schools to make admission decisions.
MBA Entrance Exams in India:
CAT (Common Admission Test)
Common Admission Test (CAT), the Guru of all MBA entrance examinations is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) to enroll students for Post-graduate and Fellow Programs. Several other top management institutes all over India also use valid CAT score for admissions. CAT is held in the month of November.
XAT (Xaviers Admission Test)
XAT (Xaviers Aptitude Test) is conducted for admission to Post-Graduate degree programme in Management at XLRI, XIM, XISS, LIBA etc. XAT is held in the month of January.
NMAT by GMAC (Narsee Monjee Admission Test by GMAC)
The NMAT by GMAC exam is used for admissions to some of the leading graduate business programmes in India. Since becoming a computer based test in 2009, the NMAT by GMAC has been a valid and reliable predictor of success in graduate business school.Institutes accepting NMAT Score: NMIMS University (Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad); Alliance University (Bangalore); Amity University (Delhi NCR); and 15 other colleges.
IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade)
Indian Institute of Foreign trade (IIFT) exam is conducted for admission to Post-Graduate degree programme in Management with special focus on International Business. Institutes accepting IIFT Exam Score: IIFT Delhi and IIFT Kolkata.
SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test)
Symbiosis National Aptitude (SNAP) Test is a common written test for the admission processes of all Symbiosis autonomous postgraduate institutes.

Basically, there are 3 sections in CAT exam - verbal ability, DILR, Quants.
Verbal ability-
Start reading newspaper daily to increase your reading speed and grasping power. Don't miss out the editorial page. Do proper analysis of articles on editorial page. Try to make summary of articles that you read para by para. However, reading newspaper won't be sufficient. Start solving RCs on a regular basis with proper analysis.
DILR-
This is one of the toughest section especially from previous 2-3 years. Not only it is tough but it also checks how quick your senses are and how good you are in selecting the sets. Therefore, the best thing to score in LR-DI is to practice more questions on daily basis so you understand which sets you should leave and before attempting the sets what are the things you should look for.
QUANTS-
This section is one of the most scoring section for student and you too should try to get maximum mark in this section. It has a proper syllabus and you need to practice each and every chapter. The major topics are- Geometry, Arithmetic, Algebra, Number System and Modern Math. It is basically the math that you have studied till tenth standard. However, having said that, the questions are not really easy. Focus more on Arithmetic and Algebra as these two are most important topics. Start with basics then go for intermediate. Good luck.

Solanki, don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want do after studying B.Tech. You may take following considerations. If you like computer, want to build crazy application or something related to software go with Computer Science engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering. Or Electrical engineering. If you are India, after studying Electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only few percent gets chance in electronics companies. So I would suggest, better to study Computer Science engineering. If you want to sail through vast sea go with Marine engineering. If you have not decided what you want to do after B.Tech, sit for one or two days and decided what you want to do. If still confused, select any of the engineering mentioned in point # 1, 2 and 3 (Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronics). Best of luck.
