If you want to pursue a Postgraduate degree in Economics you need to have a bachelors degree in the areas like Economics / Mathematics / Statistics / Physics / Engineering so, as you have degree in psychology it would be difficult for you to get admission in MA Economics.
If you are looking forward to work with Big Corporate companies you can either opt for an MBA which is open to students from any stream be it Arts, Science or Commerce. As you are a medical student, why don't you try your hand in MBBS or Pharmacy or BDS as you are already studying these and Mass Comm will be something out of the box and you might also face some problems pursuing it. Changing fields will not be a problem for you. However, you would need to demonstrate to the university, a very strong reason as to why you are shifting your field. If the university is convinced by your reasons, it will not be a problem for you at all. Also, make sure you score very well in the GRE and TOEFL as well as in your engineering so that the university is already impressed by seeing your credentials.
