If you want to pursue a Postgraduate degree in Economics you need to have a bachelors degree in the areas like Economics / Mathematics / Statistics / Physics / Engineering so, as you have degree in psychology it would be difficult for you to get admission in MA Economics.
If you are looking forward to work with Big Corporate companies you can either opt for an MBA which is open to students from any stream be it Arts, Science or Commerce. The other Options which you may consider if you want get into a Mathematical field are CA, CFA, you can even explore CS which is a good option to enter corporate world.

As you are a medical student, why don't you try your hand in MBBS or Pharmacy or BDS as you are already studying these and Mass Comm will be something out of the box and you might also face some problems pursuing it. But with due respect to your question, I would like to say that Mass Comm is a very demanding and challenging course and has a lot to offer like Journalism, advertising, PR etc.
Now for jobs, I would like to say that if you have done it from a good institute you are entitled to get a good job for that also you have to take up few good projects in your college and perform really well in your interview, because the institute will only provide with the knowledge and experience but the interview depends on your caliber. Few good colleges like IIMC, XIC, MICA etc. conduct their own entrance exams for admissions to similar courses. The basic requirement for admission is good English both written and verbal, minimum qualification required is +2.
