Also, the sample paper those are available online are for reference purpose only, to give you an idea about the exam pattern. Of course yes. You are eligible for lateral admission directly in 2nd year of engineering. But some states give admission based on marks of Diploma but some states give admission based on entrance test.

Admission will be based on percentage in class 12th (PCM) and score in entrance exams such as NATA or JEE Main. Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam) is to pass with 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 (50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths) with English or equivalent, subject to qualifying marks as per NATA 2019 or JEE Main (Paper II) or qualifying marks in any specially designed aptitude test in Architecture conducted by the competent authority of the Central/ State Governments (as/ if allowed by statutory body for 2019-20). 50% marks in 10+2 with mathematics as a compulsory subject.

PGDM as distance course will be the best done from Narsee Monjee institute of management. There are many other colleges that you can go for and they are IGNOU, Manipal and others. NM still offers the best course and you can definitely go for it and seek some value out of it.
