Traditionally, nursing has been a women oriented profession. Though the number of male nurses is increasing. Outside of India the number of male nurses is much higher. There is a great demand of trained nurses. It does not make much difference whether you have done Diploma in nursing or B.Sc in nursing as far as job opportunities and growth prospects are concerned. The minimum cut-off for admissions is dependent on the JEE Mains cut-off.
Keep in mind that the admission criteria will be purely based on your JEE Mains score and not the rank.

You have got a good rank so that you can get some courses in main campus of SRM University.
You can get automobile, nanotechnology, biotechnology, biomedical, Computer Science engineering, civil engineering and chemical engineering.
You cannot get mechanical, mechatronics or software engineering.

As far as fees are concerned, basic fees are similar in both these courses. However, placements are far more superior in marine than in aeronautical engineering. I would like to advise you join marine engineering for better placements.
