Hi Pandurang, the cutoff for Open in 2014 was 99.85 for MH-CET and for CAT it was 99.99 percentile.

For teaching in government schools (central or state), an M.Ed alone is not sufficient. Most government schools require candidates to have both a B.Ed and an M.Ed, depending on the specific subject and level of teaching.

Many private schools may accept an M.Ed alone for teaching.

Don't go with which stream is better. Go with what you want to do after studying B.Tech. You may take the following considerations. If you like a computer, want to build crazy applications or something related to software go with Computer Science and Engineering. If you like playing with machines/motors or electricity go ahead with Mechanical engineering or electrical engineering. After studying electronics and communication engineering most of the students gets job/work in IT companies. Only a few get a chance in electronics companies.
