In order to pursue Phd, from universities in US, you need to first of all make a list of the universities that you aspire for, then send emails to respective course department, asking them to provide you the eligibility criteria and selection procedure for PHD students.
It may take three to six years to complete your PHD, depending on the field you select and your mentor
The general eligibility criteria for PHD students are as follows :
In majority of the institutes, Master's Degree is an essential pre-requisite for a Ph.D. while others admit graduates too.
It is important that you have good scores in common entrance tests such as GRE and English Language examinations like TOEFL.
Internships or other work experience will add to your qualifications.
Ph.D. course work essentially includes research and documentation work. This requires large amounts of money. In addition to this, you have to consider living expenses for the entire duration of the course. The annual expenses of most Ph.D. students are about $28,000-$40,000 per year.

Hi,Age will not at all be a problem to pursue your studies abroad, as you will be working for all these years and while working you will be gaining relevant and knowledgeable work experience , so this experience will infact be one of the most advantage for you while seeking admission in good universities abroad, as universities abroad always give importance to work experience, in most of the top B-School across the world there are many students who pursue MBA or other course after having work experience of 10-15 years.
So please do not worry, you can very well study abroad after a gap of 10-15 years.
