The placement in companies, like Google and Amazon does not depend on the college. There is a chance of getting placed in these companies, even if they don't recruit in your college and you apply off-campus and get selected, then there is also a chance, if the companies recruits from your college and you're not selected. It does not depend on the college. It totally depends on you.
If you have the skills relevant to the position for which you apply and have caliber matching to the particular company and what it takes to be in the company, then surely you will be recruited, otherwise you won't.

You can get private engineering college but it will be tough to get placed in company because maximum companies allow only those who had at least 55% aggregate in class 12th. If you have then you can go for private college.

I guess 70% is good enough to GET admission in some good private engineering colleges. It would be a waste of time to give improvement in 12th and it's not even known that the aggregate would improve or not. If you give improvement, it would take another year, which is why it's better to try out some other engineering colleges.
