There is no fixed number of students applying for BITSAT with Biology as the subject. The number keeps on varying year on year. I can tell you one thing that no doubt the competition is high, but if you are clear with your concepts and determined, you can surely get a call for admissions.

Yes, you will get IT but in a third or fourth category that is you have to pay more for your desired branch. Let me explain you the admission system here. Rank in VIT to get admission should be 90,000, so you can get admission in VIT from the 6th category as well. There are various categories as well. With each category admission, fees go high. First category closed till 15,000 rank, and you can get CSE till 9000 rank and IT till 11000 rank, but there are 2nd category as well, if you want CSE, but you have to pay more for that. But if you want branch in first category in this, much rank then u will get civil, electronics. Hope this hel

This is the newest campus of VIT and last year, students got civil below 1 Lacs rank easily and I think its not better option to take admission in Bhopal campus because fees structure similar to VIT, Vellore and Chennai campus somewhat. And its infrastructure not fully completed and still its under development.
If you think to take admission in VIT, then you should refer Vellore or Chennai campus now and if you are not getting this campus then you should try other universities or colleges.Additional Information: Predict engineering colleges you can get on the basis of your JEE Rank: https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-col

To secure a seat you need to have a rank below 5000. Further, the ranks are admitted according to the financial attraction of the course and the time of admission.

You cannot get seats in IIT on the basis of Jee Mains rank. You have to clear JEE Advanced to get IIT. Seats in NITs are given on the basis of JEE Mains score, but your rank is very low, your chances are less of getting NITs, but you can get colleges of your state. Try JEE college predictor to get more information and insight about college which you can get on the basis of your rank:

Dropping a year does not affect your career in any way. You can still get a college on the basis of your JEE Mains score & rank, even if you couldn't clear the exam, you will get engineering colleges of your state. Try JEE Mains college predictor to get more information and insight about the college which you can get on the basis of your rank:
https://www.shiksha.com/b-tech/resources/jee-mains-college-predictor?utm_source=connect&utm_medium=CR_JEECP&utm_campaign=4067795
If this could't work, then try to find colleges of your local state or city via directly searching it on Shiksha.
Hope this helps.
Best of luck.

In eastern NITs, you will get. But, they are not of good standards. It's better to prepare for one more year or otherwise try to go for local colleges. You won't get in top 25 NITs in any branch.
