All the good Institutes will look into overall as well as sectional cut off, although it would not be possible to give any exact number of Questions one should attempt to get a good score but yes, you need not attempt the whole paper but on the basis of your judgment pick up those scoring questions which you can answer well. Hi Khushboo, MBA professionals are in high demand these days. And if getting the degree from one of the popular and reputed college across India can take you to great heights.
For your knowledge CAT exam put forward strict qualification criteria as it is one of the most sought after exams for admission to MBA programs in premium business schools in India and moreover cut off list goes very high for all IIM's ranging from 97-99.5 percentile.

Hi Shikha, the Staff Selection Commission makes recruitment to non-technical gazetted posts in Ministries/ Departments, the attached and subordinate offices of the Government of India, offices of the Accountant General.
To be able to sit for the exam a candidate must be graduate in any discipline from a recognized university/college.

Definitely ST/SC students hold benefits like scholarships or stipends for their higher education across India. There are defined regulations for the same. All educational institutions that come under the Indian Government have to compulsorily follow the rules prescribed by the Ministry of Human Resource Department. Information on the same can be found out by logging on to education.nic.in
As far as the private institutes are concerned, cannot say much about them as they have their own set criteria. So whichever college you looking for, visit their website personally for detailed help.

Although, if you define Information system & information technology it may differ, (IS is a wider term used to create, store, manipulate information & IT, which is a tool to creat systems, forms a part of IS), but if you look at MBA degree program it would be used at a relatively same level that is it would be considered as a degree in Information technology, some B-Schools will call it MBA IT & Some MBA IS. So, I would suggest that you should check the curriculum before enrolling into a program and based on your interests & career aspirations choose the program.
